Today, I photographed some dry cigarette butts using a macro lens. I used my ash photos as a background to add interesting textures and depth. I now need to decide how to either adapt these photos (similarly to my photoshop experimentations) and how they can be used in the final stages of this project.

Frame and presentation
Today, I finished the construction of my presentation frame. I screwed some brackets onto the back so that it is free standing. I also filled in all the holes and gave it a couple of coats of paint. It needs a few more and then i'll be ready to attach the resin!

Thinking of ways to present the resin moulds
Today, I created the labels for the individual cigarettes using the photo of the ash as planned. Next up was thinking of a way to present it. I've had this idea in my head for a while, I'm going to suspend the moulds from chains on a strip of wood across a large frame. I'm then hoping to create some sort of support for the frame so that it stands up and you can view it from either side.

Experimenting with the colour of photos
I've experimented by making the focus of the image colour and the rest black and white.
I'm not sure it really gives that much extra impact which proves the colour is an important aspect in the whole photograph.
